Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958 in very poor circumstances. Her mother worked as teacher at a local school and was an unremarkable actor while her father sold automobiles. Jennifer was the youngest child in her family and she often accompanied her mother who worked as a teacher at school and a theater teacher, to performances. She found her very impressive. When Jennifer was five years old she divorced her parents. Jennifer lived the majority of her life living in British Columbia, after her mother and father moved to the province with their four kids. In high school her passion for theatre began to fade. In an effort to counter this, her mom helped to take part as an extra in various plays.
